How leaders keep the mission alive through decisions
A company’s mission dies slowly, one decision at a time.
When leaders start deciding against what they publicly defend, the culture stops believing.
What to do:
1️⃣ Give context to decisions: people do not need to agree all the time, but they need to understand the “why”.
2️⃣ Lead by example: when the CEO cuts corners in the name of urgency, everyone learns to do the same.
3️⃣ Create rituals that reinforce purpose: decision meetings, post-mortems and action plans should start with “why”, not just “how”.
Purpose is not a slogan.
It is a decision system.
